Google Testing Sponsored Links With Local Maps

The tech team at Google AdWords are testing a new sponsored link format that combines the regular ad copy with the Google Local expanded results format previously seen only on organic search results.

The screenshots below show the appearance of the new ad format above the organic results and in the right hand column with regular ads.

When asked about the new AdWords ad format, a Google representative replied, “I’ve checked with our product support team and this is a very limited closed beta test. I’ve tried to find the ad on searches on “domino pizza london” but haven’t been able to repeat that search results which indicates this is a limited test.”
