Google Maps Include Traffic Updates
1st March 2007
Commuters can now use their favourite search engine to also plan their journey back home. Google Maps now provides up-to-date traffic information along roads in 30 major US cities.
Traffic information can be viewed by clicking on the “Traffic” button on the top right of the map. Google Maps provides a colour coded traffic indication for both ways on most major routes, with red indicating serious traffic, yellow for slight delays and green for clear roads.
Google has been promoting their Maps product a lot in recent times, by including local map-based results in the One Box for Local Searches and now by improving the features available to users on Google Maps.
