Yahoo! Properties trump Google

Hitwise released its monthly search engine rating report for January, and once again put Google at the top with 63.1 percent of U.S. search volume, for both December and January.

Yahoo!’s search volume dropped slightly to 21.4% but they still have a comfortable lead in the overall visitor traffic ratings when traffic volumes to all their properties were combined. Yahoo! mail and the Yahoo! portal get significantly more traffic than Yahoo! search, as was discussed in the article comparing marketishare of Yahoo! v Google properties.
