Facebook Mobile To Reach 100 Million Users By 2010

8th September 2009

Facebook Mobile is growing very rapidly in popularity. Recently released numbers indicate that the service is now used by more than three times as many people as the number that used it eight months ago.

In January 2009, Facebook Mobile had a respectable 20 million users, which it had amassed since its launch about three years ago, in 2006. Now, they have suddenly accumulated 65 million users, as reported on The Facebook Blog.

This growth does not look likely to slow down, either, as Facebook has recently introduced Facebook Connect on mobiles.

Growth In Usage Of Facebook Mobile

Logging in on various websites, which is never easy on a mobile handset, will now be made much easier for Facebook users, just as it is on their computers.

Facebook Mobile was first launched as a very basic mobile service in the English language only, with basic features like status updates and photo uploads. The service is now available in more than 60 different languages and has features such as Facebook SMS and several others incorporated in it.

Facebook mobile has two portals – m.facebook.com, which can be used on any handset and x.facebook.com, which is to be used on touch-screen handsets such as the iPhone, Android G1 and Palm.
