Live Search for Mobile is now out of beta and has been officially launched by Microsoft at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona. The service is still available only in the US and the UK.

New features included in the release 1.0 that weren’t available during beta are:

  • Contacts list integration: Ability to search for a contact’s address or saving a business to the contacts list to use again later.
  • SMS a friend: Text messaging capability to send a business’ address and phone number to other users. For e.g. sending venue details to friends so they know where to meet you.

The new features are available with the other features included in the Microsoft Live Search for Mobile beta, such as category-based local searching, maps and directions and real-time traffic views in selected US cities.
