Mobile TV Usage Statistics
25th April 2007
A new study from comScore has found that Mobile TV is most popular with males under the age of 35. The study found that close to two-thirds of Mobile TV subscribers in the US are male.
46% of those who currently subscribe to Mobile TV are below the age of 35, and 65% are male. The study found cost to be the main consideration among consumers choosing a Mobile TV service, with 67% indicating a willingness to watch sponsored advertisements in exchange for free subscriptions, and 64% preferring a test period before deciding on a subscription. Both of these are trends already witnessed historically with the advent of the Internet and broadband.
Factors that the surveyed users considered important included picture quality(50%), screen size (47%) and channel reception (43%).
The study was based on a survey of 2,000 American mobile phone users.
