Google Personalised Homepage Rebrands To iGoogle

A strong wave of user-centric updates are happening at Google. The personalisation drive started a while ago, when they first talked about personalising search results. However, in the past few weeks, this drive has picked up momentum.

Last week Google launched the Web History feature, which works the same way as a browser’s search history feature does. Yesterday Google went a step further and rebranded their personalised homepage product to iGoogle.

The official Google blog announcement, titled “You’ve got gadget mail“, touches upon the rebranding, and talks about how users can also create gadgets and send them to their friends – a great way to virally promote their personalised homepage features!

Google Gadgets currently offered are framed photos, “GoogleGrams”, daily personal updates, YouTube channels, personal lists, countdowns to an event and a free form gadget that allows users to mix an image and text.
