Blocker for global growth

In new research carried out by AccuraCast’s Global Growth Lab – established to help assist businesses with cross-border reach - complications surrounding Brexit was cited by 33% of respondents as a barrier to growth. In Scotland and Northern Ireland the sentiment was even more pronounced, where Brexit was the reason given by 47% and 43% of respondents respectively.

A quarter of the professionals surveyed also indicated that concerns about the cost of marketing internationally, along with a shortage of guidance, were obstacles.

The results follow up on research undertaken by the company 12 months ago which revealed that although 55 per cent of businesses cancelled or delayed plans to export to overseas markets or trade internationally, 51 per cent said that their view on the importance of international trade had increased, demonstrating clear intent and ambition.
