Will Googlebot approve of your “page experience”?
Six months to fix user experience
May 2021: That’s when Google will start considering “core web vitals” as a ranking signal. This means pages that deliver a faster and smoother user experience will have more chances of ranking higher organically.

Three web vitals that marketing managers and technical SEOs need to pay attention to:
- Largest contentful paint – indicates how long the largest element on the web page takes to load. You should aim for < 2.5 seconds.
- First input delay – indicates how quickly your web page reacts to user actions. You should aim for < 100ms.
- Cumulative layout shift – measures unexpected changes in the layout when a user is on a page. You should aim for a score < 0.1, which means your mobile site should largely avoid layout shifts on interaction or scroll.
